You might wonder.
WHY?
Why run for 8, 9. 14+ hours?
Why do I do it?
Why does anyone do it?
Let me tell you, it’s not for long-term health.
I spoke to Dr Daniel Amen who advised me not to.
And it’s not just so I can go around telling people I run them.
And I can’t speak for anyone else.
Everyone has their own reasons. And trust me, there are a lot of ultra runners out there.

This past weekend, I joined 400 runners at the Fat Dog 120 in Manning Park, British Columbia.
There were 30 mile, 50 mile, 70 mile and 120 mile options + a 120 mile relay.
I was signed up for the 50 mile, but since I had completed a total of 2 training runs in the last ~4 months, I decided to drop to the 30 miler.
*Note: I did a fair bit of unconventional training

You might think that the only reason I run ultras is to tell people I run ultras.
I do include these adventures in my speeches and social media posts, but the reasons go much deeper than that.
I share the main reason in this ~1 min video right here…
