Balancing Our Minds: Everyday Champions of Wellness

We are very excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2015 Balancing Our Minds Youth Summit. This year’s theme is ‘Everyday Champions of Wellness’ as we’ve recognized that there are wellness champions everywhere doing amazing things. We’ll be highlighting a number of local champions and sharing ideas of how to be a champion in your school or community.

What’s New This Year?Brent at BOM2014 v2

This year will feature new speakers from around BC, new activities and a new awards presentation. After seeing the lineup of speakers and activities, I’m super stoked for this event. We’ve found BC’s leading youth who are doing truly incredible things to raise awareness around mental health and wellness. This will also be the first year of award winners for the ‘Champions of Wellness’ Awards, which I’m proud to be a co-creator of. The awards will feature three youth who have done amazing things to promote mental health in their schools and communities.

Who Should Attend?Brent at BOM2014 - 2 v2

The event is designed for high school aged youth from around British Columbia. This means youth aged 13-18, whether attending high school or not. Schools, community groups and other groups that involve youth are welcome to register and the event is free for all to attend. Youth must be accompanied by an adult at roughly a 4-1 ratio (of youth to adults). Teachers and/or counsellors are encouraged to recruit youth who they feel would be interested and excited to participate.
